YO GUERRILLA BUNNIES! OK, It's ON! We're doing Arnold--major LA postering: Saturday night, OCT 4th, 10pm Canter's Deli on Fairfax, between Beverly & Melrose. You're all invited. Come crank up on kosher coffee and matzo ball soup. Breathe deep--inhale, injest the zeitgeist--then exhale our angst on the streets of Lalaland. Arnold embodies everything gone wrong with the American Dream--he's my nightmare! Power mad Austrian body builder comes to America to conquer (and fuck a Kennedy, which is part of it, I guess). Anyway, I don't gotta tell you how pissed off, fucked up and photo-copied I am. Way ready, baby. We pulled a couple of all-nighters to get this one with the Terminator eyes (glowing red) ready---let's do one more night of damage! Boom Boom, my glittery Macedonian Gypsy assistant, is ready to kick some street ass. See you there.

Yo BUNS!
Just a Quickley reminder--Jerry Quickley, the freshest, most resounding slam poet we got, is doing a one-night-only performance at Overtones (yes, the Boom Boom room), 11306 Venice Blvd, at Sawtelle, 8:30pm TONIGHT!, Sept 17th. He'll have musicians and a DJ backing him as he drops poetry bombs from on high and shows projected still photos of his experiences in Baghdad--he's doing a documentary on his time there. It's going to be a one of a kind time for us--you gotta come see Jerry stand tall in front of the big Bob Marley painting and fire away at that wall of 25 portraits of "evil-doers" still in the gallery. We're also, as a special treat, going to unveil the brand new ARNOLD poster ! Gettin revved up for our OCT, 4th postering date at Canter's, baby! (more on that later). So, I'll be there tonight with ACHTUNG BABY! in tow, the bunnies'll be out and hopping. Please join us. Give Boom Boom a call: 310 915-0346 for more info.

Yo Buns! Sure, we're still having our shizzlin snivvelin artbash this Sat nite at Boom Boom's OVERTONES gallery/performance space, on Venice Blvd at Sawtelle, and we wanta hang witchchew--hey, dig this: my man, Jeff Wasserman, just put some dope GOLD LEAF type on a tricky dick, rock'n'doris painting I did that nobody's seen (for good reason, no doubt!)--Hallmark card type: "Waterbugger". It's greal gold leaf--glittery. It'll be in the house! But more importantly, the great JERRY QUICKLEY is droppin some slam poetry bombs at Boomie's joint (11306 Venice Blvd www.overtones.org) on Wednesday nite, Sept 17th, 8pm-- called "You should see the shit I saw in Baghdad" or something like that, subtitled, "Geroge Bush eat a pile of shit". Has a nice ring to it, either way. JERRY IS THE BEST SLAM POET I'VE EVER HEARD (he's also a mighty man). And he'll have special guests and music behind him! (guitar and percussion, not bongo drums and berets, baby)You gotta come ta dis! I'll be there, the bunnies'll be there, my drawings and Bob Marley will still be up--give Boomie a call: 310 915-0346 for details. It's a measly $5 at the door--the bling goes to help pay Jerry's production costs on his documentary about his time in Baghdad.

Yo Bunnies!
The ARTBURN book tour is burning rubber in Lalaland this coming week.
Starting Wed, Sept 10th, 7pm at 18th Street Arts Center in Santa Monica, (1629 18th Street, just no. of Olympic) the LA Weekly is co-sponsoring a monster party--I'm gonna give a slide talk for about as long as I can stand up (15 minutes?), then Border Grill food, drinks, live music. Bill Smith, art director extraordinaire, will be there, the Weekly bat cave crew, et al. For info call 310 453-3711. It's free!
Then on Sat. Sept 13th at 5pm, I'll be at Skylight Books on Vermont, just no. of Hollywood Blvd, very hip eastside indie bookstore, signing books and chatting (hopefully sitting down). Also free!
Then at 8pm Sat. Sept 13th--same evening--I'll bunnyhop over to a shizzle of a bash: an artshow/book tour kick-off party at OVERTONES gallery/performance space, Boom Boom's new jumpin joint (ok, she shares it with Blondie) at 11306 Venice Blvd, at Sawtelle, 310 915-0346.
Featuring 25 original charcoal drawings for ARTBURN, including laser beaming ACHTUNG BABY! Ah-nold facing off against have-a-very-gray Davis, Tricky Dick Nixon will be waterbugging with Rock Hudson & Doris Day, a brand new giant oil portrait of Bob Marley (the antidote), thanks to David Arquette, and J. Edgar Hoover and his pet pug will be in the house, along with Lyndon Johnson and his beagle, Little Jimmy Carter and his killer rabbit, Babs and Millie, Bubba and Socks and a hot out of the studio charcoal of Condaleezza Rice (be afraid, be very afraid!). Live music galore: Blondie'll throw down some ferocious Seattle-lite funk, blues, slide and jazz guitar licks, H-Bomb'll be on keyboards and surprise musical guests, booze and munchies. All free! And da book, da book (a measly 20 bucks--not an obligatory purchase). All the LA bunnies'll be there (Hugh Heffner is not invited), Bambi, Little Nikkita, Chuckles, Glam-chop, et al--we can't wait to meet you. Even Dan the Man will be down from Frisco to jam with Pami. C'mon out and play, guerrilla-style.!
