YoYo BUNNIES!
Here's a silly serendipitous pairing fo ya: because my great, ferociously political pal, Sandi Cruze, has just opened a faaabulous new beauty salon in Pasadena and--of course--DUBYA is soooo in need of a make-over, we're doing a Robbie's Greatest Hits poster show at the salon--opening this coming Saturday nite, August 7th, 7pm til they close us down--with live music and dead politicians: Ellouise 55 Waverly Drive, suite 103 (it's BIG), Pasadena 91105 626 793-0037. Sangria and beer on the house (come get bombed--and bomb the suburbs with us).
We'll have 15 framed posters from 1988 up to right about now, funk soul brotha, on display, some original paintings and drawings and signed books, posters, t shirts ("Achtung Baby!") and stickers (Gandhi, Dalai Lama, MLK jr. Bob Marley and Hail to the Thief are brand new) for sale. Buy the fresh trio of anti-Bush, anti-War posters signed by Shepard Fairey, Mear-one and me for $100 and get discounts on stylin cuts from Sandi and her lipstick feminist fashionistas. This is the blue-eyed, brown-eyed soul sistah of Barbershop...the country club of the hood. I'll be there, Boom Boom, my glittery Macedonian Gyspy assistant (and her tattoos and her Mama and lil gorgeous brother visiting from Belgrade
will welcome you with central Euro charm and dimples). The east side Bunnies will give out complimentary lessons in bunnyhuggin (not that you need'em, but a free hug from a bunny is always a good thing).
What's not to like? Hope to see you there--please give Sandi a call and let her know you're comin. It's free, of course, but we want to be ready to treat you right (or left).
bunnyhugs, peace & angst, robbie
ps. New Yawkahs: get ready for the invasion: August 26th at Volume in Williamsburg (postering after the event), Mean Ole Frisco Sept 4th, Tucson, Sept 10-12. Fire up that pedal steel guitar!
